Balance ACO is an Accountable Care Organization ("ACO") as defined by the Medicare Shared Savings Program, which was established as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. Balance ACO is an integrated delivery system consisting of primary and specialty care doctors, hospitals, and ancillary providers. Under the Shared Savings Program, Medicare will reward ACOs that lower their growth in health care costs while meeting performance standards on quality of care and putting patients first.
